Travellers can now enjoy a seamless journey between the Garden Route and South Africa’s renowned safari region, thanks to CemAir’s new direct service between George and Hoedspruit.
The route, which commenced on 17 May 2026, creates an exciting new connection between two of the country’s most sought-after tourism destinations – the scenic Garden Route and the wildlife-rich Lowveld and Kruger Park.
Operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the service offers both leisure and business travellers a convenient alternative to connecting through major hubs such as Johannesburg.
Flights depart George at 08:10, arriving in Hoedspruit at 10:25, while the return service leaves Hoedspruit at 10:55 and lands in George at 13:20. Sunday departure times vary slightly, with flights departing George at 10:05 and Hoedspruit at 12:40.
Hoedspruit serves as a gateway to some of South Africa’s premier safari experiences, including the Greater Kruger region and numerous private game reserves. For travellers from Limpopo and Mpumalanga, the new route opens easy access to the Garden Route‘s diverse attractions, from its pristine beaches and indigenous forests to adventure activities, world-class golf courses and culinary experiences.
According to CemAir Chief Commercial Officer Shaniel Singh, the new service strengthens regional tourism and makes travel between the coast and the bushveld more accessible.

The airline has indicated that frequencies may be increased in future as demand grows, further enhancing connectivity between these key destinations.
