My love for the Garden Route started when I fist visited the region as a tourist myself. I had arrived in the country with laptop, wearing business attire, and looking for a job I couldn’t find without any specialist skills the country needed. I was however welcomed with open arms as an investor, starting a business, employing staff and growing the economy by inviting visitors from around the world to come and spend a few days in our beautiful part of the country. In our guesthouse initially, later on accompanying guests as tourist guide, and also as operator putting packages together for those wanting to travel on their own but benefitting from the knowledge gained over the years.
This online magazine and travel guide is a culmination of the experiences lived over the years. Of people encountered, festivals visited, and places discovered. There is so much to see and do, and it’s my pleasure to share all this magical region has to offer.
