Hi-Tec Garden Route Walking Festival – POSTPONED

(Mar. 16, 2020)

Festival Postponed – Hi-Tec Garden Route Walking Festival 2020!  We are sad to announce the postponement of the festival.

Founded in 2015, the Hi-Tec Garden Route Walking Festival this year once again offers a favorite selection of not-to-miss walks for everyone who loves walking, hiking and nature.  It’s about getting together, getting outdoors, discovering new trails and fun experiences that build memories.

Favorites

Some of the outings that are festival favourites, from a selection of 40 different walks on offer, are: the Tidal Pool Meander in Sedgefield, Giraffe Viewing Walks and the Perfect Coastal Walk outside Plett, the Oystercatcher Trail in Mossel Bay, a High Tea Walk in the Crags and Secret Elephant Walks in the forests of Knysna, Sketching Walks and even the famous Underwater Walk.

From the birding walks to nature connection on the edge of a lagoon, from archeological interpretive walks to caves to moonlight adventures on the beach – walking is fun way to experience and enjoy the rich nature of the Garden Route.

Guides

All walks are led by volunteers or professional walking guides. Festival goers explore off-the-beaten-track trails and unusual spots from local townships to the highest peaks in the region, like George Peak or Peak Formosa.

Costs

Most walks are free to join, while others require a guiding fee or permit to attend. In 2020 the festival is helping to raise funds and awareness for trail maintenance and trail upkeep on the Garden Route’s favourite trails and has teamed up with Green Flag Trails International to help make this happen.

All walks need to be booked online.

Early booking is advised.

The event is finished.
