DESCRIPTION:The Klein Karoo Nasionale Kunstefees (KKNK) is South Africa’s premier Afrikaans arts festival\, held annually in the charming town of Oudtshoorn.  This vibrant event transforms the Klein Karoo into a cultural hub\, attracting over 1\,000 artists and more than 86\,000 visitors for a week of theatre\, music\, visual arts\, and community celebration. \nEstablished in 1994\, the KKNK has become a cornerstone of South Africa’s cultural calendar\, showcasing a diverse array of performances and exhibitions that highlight the richness of Afrikaans culture.  The festival not only offers entertainment but also serves as a platform for emerging and established artists to present new works\, many of which debut here before touring nationally. \nThe 2026 edition of the KKNK\, which marks its 30th edition\, is scheduled from 28 March to 4 April.  Visitors can look forward to a dynamic program that includes drama\, dance\, music\, and visual arts\, set against the backdrop of Oudtshoorn’s scenic beauty and warm hospitality.
